The aim of SKH is to enlarge quality management in the building sector and those sectors where timber and timber products are applied, as well as the use of timber from durably controlled forests.
SKH is particularly active in the field of timber, timber products, timber constructions and timber related products.
SKH  tries to reach the improvement/enlargement  by means of, among other things, the use of certification systems which are supervised both on a national and an international level.

The KOMO® certification schemes (the Assessment Directives) and the management certification schemes (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and VCA) are supervised by the Council for Accreditation and FSC-COC is certification supervised by ASI.

The primary activity of SKH is the issuing of certificates to applicants complying with the requirements. The income obtained from the issuing of certificates is the source of revenue.

Anyone interested to obtain information free of obligation in connection with a specific certification scheme receives a letter with information about that subject,  together with the costs of the certification procedure and the annual costs for the maintenance and the continuous controls.
